Describe the lives of children within the Puritan community. What were they allowed/not allowed to do?
Puritan children were treated like little “adults” instead of children. Their lives were strict, the did not have much time for playing, and they were meant to be seen not heard. Their lives were fairly joyless.

They argue about which of them owns the land Proctor is finding wood from. Proctor believes it is his land because he bought it from Francis Nurse, but Putnam states that he was given that land in a will from a relative.

She is afraid that she will be in more trouble if she does not admit it, so she plays along with Hale as he pushes her for information.
