4 What traits to you possess that will Benefit the executive board?
Traits that I have that would benefit the executive board include that I am organized, forward-thinking, dedicated, and time-oriented. I believe that these traits are beneficial for a board member because they allow events to be planned efficiently and help all other aspects run smoothly.

5 Why do you want to be on the executive board
I want to be on the board because the volunteer opportunities, guest speakers, and connections gained through AMSA played a key role in helping me get involved freshmen year. This year I had the opportunity to serve as public relations officer which allowed me to further my involvement in AMSA. The leadership experience gained through being on the board has been very rewarding. I would like to continue to develop my leadership skills within AMSA.

6 How have you contributed to amsa?
Freshmen year I contributed to AMSA by volunteering at People Serving People and the Hope lodge, attending meetings regularly, participating in the pre-med dinner both semesters. This year I contributed to AMSA by serving as public relations officer. This position entailed that I attended weekly general and board meeting, regularly updated social media and the website, and planned Bioethics Week in the fall.

7 What would be your first choice of position to run for? Why?
My ideal first position would be secretary. I believe I would be a good fit for this position because I am very organized and would be highly capable of maintaining an updated schedule of events. I would be able to efficiently communicate about upcoming events and concisely recap previous meetings to members through .

8 If you’re interested in running for a second position, what would your second choice position be? Why? My ideal second position would be events coordinator. I believe I would be a good fit for this position because I am skilled in organizing events and making sure all necessary aspects are taken care of. I would make sure all events planned would benefit members and that they are events member would want to attend, and enjoy.

9 In a few sentences, what are your strengths and weaknesses?
My strengths are that I am very disciplined, I am able to view things in the bigger picture, and am able to combat conflict within groups of people. Also, I am very focused, dedicated, and logical when it comes to completing tasks. My weaknesses are that I sometimes pay too much attention to minute details and do not delegate tasks efficiently enough.

10 What is your vision for the future of the organization
What is your vision for the future of the organization? No matter how crazy…we want to hear it! For the future of this organization I visualize it continuing to be one of the most helpful pre-med organizations which guides, educates, and provides opportunities to students which will benefit them greatly in their professional lives. I also want to bring more networking events and opportunities for members to learn from influential people in the industry. Additionally, I would like to provide more opportunities to create awareness of issues in the health care field and to develop leadership skills.

11 Public Speaking process
REQUIRED On a selected date you will be called to speak with 3 AMSA members pertaining to your Board Position. Additionally, on a selected Wednesday we will ask all of our board members to give a 2 minute speech on given prompts. Additional information will be supplied after the application submission time has closed. If you can not make Wednesday meetings we will ask that you record such speech for the members to view.
