Gather The Lord be with you And also with you Let the light of Christ shine in our lives

4 Receive The righteous will answer the King, “Lord, when was it that we saw you hungry and gave you food, or thirsty and gave you something to drink? And when was it that we saw you a stranger and welcomed you, or naked and gave you clothing? And when was it that we saw you sick or in prison and visited you?” And the king will answer them, “Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me.” From the Gospel according to Matthew, Chapter 25, verses 37 to 40

5 Engage The word dementia describes a set of symptoms that may include memory loss and difficulties with thinking, problem-solving or language. Dementia is caused when the brain is damaged by diseases, such as Alzheimer's disease or a series of strokes. There are 850,000 people living with dementia in the UK. Organisations such as the Alzheimer’s Society are here for anyone who is affected and there are lots of ways they can help.

6 Engage Some discussion ideas …
Most people have someone in their family or among friends who have a form of dementia – it can be very distressing – how do you think people can help to care and support? Activity suggestion … Imagine you are making a personal memory box – so that, in the future, it would remind you of special people and events – what would you put in your memory box (be creative!). Video suggestion … Living with dementia - the Wilsons' story - Alzheimer's Society -

7 Respond Amen O God, we know that there are many diseases in the world,
some more obvious than others. Help us to care for people who have a form of dementia so that we can share happiness and joy. Amen

8 Go out into the world with the light of Christ
