2. CENSUS DATA ACCESSING Go to American FactFinder website
Focus on Getting Detailed Data—Decennial Census
Click on Get Data
Click tab for Census 2000 or 1990 Census
Select SF1 or SF3
Click on Detailed Tables

3. CENSUS DATA SPECIFYING
Select Geographic Type County Subdivision
Select a State
Select a County
Select a Community
Select a Geographic Area
Add the Geographic Area to the selection box
Click on “Next”

4. CENSUS DATA TABLES Select tables and add to list
Click on “Show Result”
Copy or Print if desired

5. CENSUS DATA DOWNLOADING
Select “Download” from Print/Download Menu
Select download option
Respond to “Information Bar”
Respond if prompted for file location
Go to location and click on to unzip

6. CENSUS DATA FORMATTING
Open unzipped data file with spreadsheet program
Transpose data using “copy” and “paste special”
Edit as needed
