Alberto Giacometti Alberto Giacometti was born October 10, 1901, in Borgonovo, in SOUTHEASTERN Switzerland, near the Italian border. He began drawing in 1911 His first painting was a still life with apples in 1913 He studied life drawings at the studio of Antoine Bourdelle to study life drawings and sculpture. Died of heart disease and chronic bronchitis on January 11, 1966

Man Pointing Giacometti left Surrealism ,and started focusing on the human figure and working from live models. Giacometti scraped away the body's muscles, so that the flesh seems eaten off by emptiness Recording the touch of the artist's fingers, the surface of Man Pointing is as rough as if charred or corroded.

Man Pointing Alberto Giacometti created the sculpture “Man Pointing” in 1947. The sculpture is made from bronze. Man Pointing can be found in New York's Museum of Modern Art and London's Tate Gallery. It is in the “European Art of the World War II Era”.
