Perú is located in the American continent

LOCATION Peru is located on South America's central Pacific coast. The world's twentieth-largest nation, it borders Bolivia, Brazil, and Chile to the east and south, and Colombia and Ecuador to the north. Lima, the capital, is located on the central coast. Peru's 1,326,074 square kilometers (512,000 square miles) make it roughly the size of Alaska.

FLAG The Peruvian Flag is described as three equal, vertical bands of red (hoist side), white, and red with the Peruvian coat of arms centered in the white band. Red is for the blood spilled in search of freedom and white for the pure peace that the army of liberation was seeking after freedom was achieved. The Meaning & History of the Peru coat of arms , has a vicuña (kindda like a llama, but smaller and with a more expensive wool than alpaca or llamas), the quinine tree (from where the cure for malaria was extracted) and the horn of plenty.

LANGUAGE Peru's official languages are Spanish and Quechua. Spanish is spoken in practically every city and town in the country, while Quechua is mainly spoken in a few places of the Andes. In the highland plains, called altiplano, in the department of Puno, Aymara is also spoken, although it is not held to be an official language.

COOL FACT The potato is originally from Peru and they produce over 3000 varieties. The Tomato is also originally from Peru, and it is a close relative of the Potato.
