Discussion Implementation of radiographer discharge has been a successful service development in several areas of UK Beneficial in terms of modernising systems of work for rural areas of Scotland Skills utilisation (in line with AHP delivery plan) More effective use of healthcare professional’s skills and time Improving patient experience Patient centred care

Conclusions RLD can potentially reduce Community Hospital A&E/Minor Injury waiting times and streamline the care pathway in patients with soft tissue musculo-skeletal injuries.

The future?? Implementation of RLD in community hospitals?? Further research? Training of community based radiographers? Radiographer-led prescribing and onward referrals? Reduce pressure on GPs and acute centres?
