Meet the Teacher! Mrs Durston
Miss Clarke will be the LSA working in 2RD. Shelly is the class pet and is a GIANT African Land Snail .

Lunches, Snacks and Water
- Lunch is from 12-1pm. - Healthy lunch boxes are A MUST! - Fruit can be brought in as a snack for break times. - Water can be brought in a labelled bottle. - St Ursula’s is a nut free school.

Homework - Homework will be given out on the Friday of that week.
- It will be a piece of English or Maths and spellings. - It is expected in by the following Wednesday in order for the spelling test to be taken.

PE PE will be on Tuesdy mornings.
Children will need to bring a PE kit in to change into. Children will need appropriate PE clothing such as t-shirt and short. In the winter months, jogging bottoms are preferred due to some lessons taking place outside. Please ensure all items are labelled as it can easily go missing in a class of 30!

Topics Term 1 = Houses and Homes/Materials
Term 2 = Night Time/Animals including Humans. Term 3 = Countries and Cultures/Friction Term 4 = Carnival of the Animals/ Living things and Habitats. Term 5 = Florence Nightingale/Plants Term 6 = Splash!/Healthy Living

SATs Absolutely nothing to worry about! Taken in May
Children are taken out in small groups to complete the SATs papers. 2 reading papers, 2 maths papers and 2 SPaG papers. Lots of practice in schools. No set time limit. Teacher assessed. Not sent away for marking!

Class Dojo Class reward system used alongside school behaviour chart. Children assigned their own ‘creature’. Points are given for positive behaviour and can be taken away for negative behaviour. Parents can connect through an app (windows and apple compatible.) to follow child’s behaviour. Also accessible online A valuable teacher to parent communication tool!

General Information Year 2 finish the school day at 3:20pm.
Collection and drop off is by the classroom door. Assemblies are on Mondays, Thursday and Fridays. Children will be taught and expected to write ‘pre-cursively’
