Code of Federal Regulations: Associated with historical events Associated with significant persons Features merit in terms of art, architecture and craftsmanship Yields information important to our history

Encourages restoration and reuse of significant properties Reduces loss of properties that support Winchester’s historical presence Enhances long-term value Promotes responsible development

7 Preliminary Review Process
Any owner may request a review Significance determination by the Commission made within 60 days of request If applicant appeals decision or insufficient information available, an approved independent consultant may be hired by the applicant Determination is in perpetuity

8 Demolition Application Process
Application for Demolition Permit Notice of application to the Commission Is the building eligible for review? Yes Preliminary Determination of Significance Significant, goes to hearing Not significant, permit may be issued No Permit may be issued
