Theory based learning (academic focus) Develop strong research skills Lecture style, seminars, labs, group discussions and presentations Professors and TA’s Many offer professional programs, such as law, medicine, dentistry, or teaching in some cases, you can begin these programs after 2 or 3 years of undergraduate study

9 Cost of Tuition Tuition costs have greatly increased in Canada
Most programs start around $8000 per year Some specialized programs start at $15000 per year Books and supplies: $500 to $1500 per year

11 How to get in? You need six 4U or 4M courses to apply
You must have ENG4U - all programs in Ontario require this course Every University is unique and has unique requirements for their programs - you must do your research

12 Example University of Western Ontario - King’s Program: History
King’s projects a minimum 78% final entrance average for Ontario high schools students. Averages are calculated on the top six 4U or 4M credits including English 4U Program: Global Commerce King’s projects a minimum 80% final entrance average for Ontario high schools students. Averages are calculated on the top six 4U or 4M credits including English 4U and two of MCV 4U, MHF 4U or MDM 4U. MCV 4U is strongly recommended.

14 How to Apply You will receive a personal PIN # and PASSWORD from your guidance counsellor You need to sign up for an account on the website Complete your application online and pay ($ not refundable – 3 program choices not 3 Universities) Submit - Now you have applied

15 Did I get into the Program?
All applications are due in January Once you have applied Check your account often You will receive offers of admission through the website and in the mail Confirm your program online and by mail A down-payment of tuition will guarantee your spot
