2 Matthew 21:6-17 6The disciples went and did as Jesus had instructed them. 7They brought the donkey and the colt and placed their cloaks on them for Jesus to sit on. 8A very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road, while others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road.

3 Matthew 21:6-17 “Hosanna to the Son of David!”
9The crowds that went ahead of him and those that followed shouted, “Hosanna to the Son of David!” “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Hosanna in the highest heaven!” 10When Jesus entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred and asked, “Who is this?”

4 Matthew 21:6-17 11The crowds answered, “This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth in Galilee.” 12 Jesus entered the temple courts and drove out all who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves. 13“It is written,” he said to them, “ ‘My house will be called a house of prayer, but you are making it ‘a den of robbers.”

5 Matthew 21:6-17 14The blind and the lame came to him at the temple, and he healed them. 15But when the chief priests and the teachers of the law saw the wonderful things he did and the children shouting in the temple courts, “Hosanna to the Son of David,” they were indignant.

6 Matthew 21:6-17 16“Do you hear what these children are saying?” they asked him. “Yes,” replied Jesus, “have you never read, “ ‘From the lips of children and infants you, Lord, have called forth your praise ?” 17And he left them and went out of the city to Bethany, where he spent the night.

7 What habits or practices violate our relationship with the Father?
When we sin, when we behave in way that dishonors God, we aren’t just violating rules. No, we are violating a relationship. These principles, these instructions that we find throughout the Bible, are not designed to as a set of rules. They are provided to us as a pathway of life.

8 Jesus knew that the cleansing needed to start at the household of God.
A place to feel safe, a refuge from the world. Critical that we protect and cleanse our own hearts, to have a place to commune with God. He provides us with a place of refuge and peace. The household of God is now within us, His followers.

9 John 14:27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

10 Jesus is telling His followers in John that He has come to bring harmony and healing and wholeness.
The things that spring forth when we enter a relationship with the Father. Have you entered that relationship? Are you experiencing peace – security, safety, wholeness?

11 Luke 19:41-44 41 As he approached Jerusalem and saw the city, he wept over it 42 and said, “If you, even you, had only known on this day what would bring you peace—but now it is hidden from your eyes. 43 The days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment against you and encircle you and hem you in on every side.

12 Luke 19:41-44 44 They will dash you to the ground, you and the children within your walls. They will not leave one stone on another, because you did not recognize the time of God’s coming to you.”
