Graduation Supplies Rhodes Graduation/Jostens will be here tonight.
Students only need a cap, gown, tassel and diploma . Graduation supply meeting will be Tues. September 5. Graduation supply order day will be Tues., September 12 from 11am-1p.m

College Application Day- Sept 28
Wed. Sept 28 from 9am-12pm in the MCHS Media Center. Students sign up to reserve your space. College admissions counselors will attend and assist students with the college application process.

Senior Exams--May 22-25, 2018 Senior Night--May Baccalaureate--watch for date/time in Senior newsletter. Mandatory Graduation Practice--May 8:55am. Graduation Day Friday, June 1, 7pm.

ACT/SAT Test Dates ACT/SAT is for 4 year colleges.
2 year and tech schools have their own placement testing-ACT /SAT not required. You are responsible for sending your ACT/SAT and AP scores to colleges thru your ACT/SAT/AP account. Colleges will not accept scores from high schools or from you. NCAA must receive scores directly as well. Handout includes available test MCHS.

Financial Aid Workshop Date-- October 26th TTBD Free Application for Federal Student Aid FAFSA opens after Oct 1 Grants Loans Lottery tuition assistance Work studies Many college's have a March 1st deadline and begin designating funds.

South Carolina Scholarship Requirements
Be SC Resident Be a US Citizen Be enrolled as a degree seeking student at an eligible SC private /public institution Certify that he/she has never been convicted of any felony and has not been convicted of any second or subsequent alcohol or drug related misdemeanors. Not in default of any state or federal loans See handout for state scholarship specifics.

Prospective College Athletes
Must register with NCAA clearinghouse SEND ACT/SAT scores directly to them (9999) Print the form and give to Guidance to send a transcript If you have questions see your coach or Ms. McAllister in the Counseling and Advisement Office

Military Military recruiters make campus visits during lunch period
Sign up to take the ASVAB-- November MCHS Let us know of your interest so we can put you in touch with recruiter.

Narrow choice to 3 schools Request information on websites Meet with Military Recruiters Plan to attend College Open House and interest tours Make contact with the College Admissions Office Make a campus visit Apply Early Start looking for related job opportunities.

What to do Seniors and Parents
Check your school for update's and new opportunities as they become available. Use the parent portal account--Load App to your phone Students--Look and listen daily for announcements. Check the school webpage and Facebook page for updates BE AWARE of deadlines. Always ASK QUESTIONS if you need help.
