2 What is St. Andrew’s day St. Andrew’s Day is the feast day of Saint Andrews. It is celebrated on the 30th of November. Saint Andrew is the patron saint of Scotland, Greece, Romania, Russia, Poland, Ukraine, and St. Andrew, Barbados. St Andrew’s Day marks the beginning of Scotlands winter festivals. The Saltire

Saint Andrew was one of the 12 Apostles of Jesus Brother of St. Peter St. Andrew is believed to have been crucified on a diagonal cross, which was a common execution in Roman times, which therefore came to be called St. Andrew’s Cross. This flag became the flag of Scotland St. Andrew is also the Patron Saint of Fishman and Sailors

St. Andrew’s day is a Bank Holiday The Saltire must fly on all government buildings. People celebrate Scottish culture by eating traditional Scottish Food, performing Scottish Music and Dance.
