Synopsis What is your video about? The video we will be creating will be about the band The Sons of the Lotus Machine. We will be asking them questions on topics like how they met/how the band began. Where they got the name from and whether they had previous band names/members that left. Our interviewer (Lulu) will ask questions on the bands inspiration for their songs, what their gigs are like and what they see for their future, or what they hope for. We have chosen these topics because we want to keep the interview informal and comfortable but get as much information and knowledge from the group as we can so that viewers can see what the band is like and their background. Who is the video for? Anyone who likes alternative rock music, people who want to discover a new band or a band that isn’t too well known. Or for people who like The Sons of the Lotus Machine and want to know more about them.
4
Treatment How do you imagine seeing your video? The video that our group will create will be laid back and show clips of what a normal, everyday rehearsal is like in the band life. It will be an interview but we will include clips of their music videos and their music, to keep viewers intrigued. There isn’t really a theme for the video but the genre of music is alternative rock. When the shots of the bands life is shown there will be a voice over describing what is going on instead of there being in front of the camera making the day look unnatural. This way the audience will see the band in their natural environment. What will happen? At the beginning video there will be a short intro shot of one of the bands music videos, then there will be a jump shot to the intro of the video. The middle will be of the interview, and then at the end there will be a voiceover describing shots of the bands average rehearsal day.

Audio Part What will the podcast part of the project be like? The podcast will be informal, so that the interviewees are comfortable, as well as the interviewer. Who and where are you going to interview your band? Lulu (the interviewer) will be interviewing The Sons of the Lotus Machine, these interviewees include the bassist Jonathan Gwillym, the drummer Ben Barlow, and the guitarist/vocalist William Bain Smith. What will the style of the interview be? Informal. How will the podcast be available to listeners? It will be posted on the media platform, YouTube so that anyone and everyone can access it.
6
Interactive Elements How are you going to promote the band? Our group will promote the band by posting the video we will create on various social media platforms. The podcast will also go up on YouTube. Bands often promote themselves by creating pages on social media like Instagram and Facebook so that people can access written information about them and post videos/photos of the group or singer. A lot of artists do this as well as publishing their songs and work on YouTube which is where you will find most of their music alongside their music videos. You can also find visual/audio info about any band on YouTube because accounts often upload videos and podcasts of artists, which is what our group will be doing. The band already has a Facebook page so our main platform that we will promote the group on will be YouTube.

Contingency Plan Band unavailable on day of shoot? Reschedule with the band and hope that they will be able to do another day. Equipment faulty? Bring back up equipment, for example, two cameras rather than one, charger leads. Check everything before leaving to film, just to make sure everything is working properly and nothing has broken. Weather conditions? We will be filming most of the video inside. There will however be shots of the band hanging out, which will probably be outside. We will check the weather before we go outside so that it doesn’t start raining half way through. Location unavailable? We have decided to film at Lulus house so that everyone doesn’t have to travel very far. If this is unavailable then again we will have to reschedule to a place that suits everyone better.
