In your Language, Paper 2 exam – for Part B you are going to be asked to write a piece of Transactional Writing – basically writing for a purpose (letter, blog, magazine article, newspaper article, review etc…) Success Criteria: Start with a powerful beginning- a language technique to engage your reader (rhetorical question, metaphor, personification …) Adventurous adjectives/vocabulary Ambitious punctuation ( ; - ? ! : ) Language techniques (personification, rhetorical questions, metaphor, simile, alliteration) Variety of short and long sentences Variety of sentence starters Vary paragraph lengths for effect

Write a MAGAZINE ARTICLE which explores the advantages and disadvantages of having a prom night. Your article must include the following: How is prom usually celebrated (what happens – how do people dress – etc…) Advantages of a PROM Disadvantages of a PROM Your personal view to conclude your article
