NODA is the main body that represents amateur theatre nationally and we continually lobby government to ensure that your voice s heard and that concerns about the financial sustainability of amateur theatre are appreciated. Q

Every year each of the 11 NODA regions hold their own Regional Conference. These are a chance for discussion, an opportunity to elect Regional Representative and a celebration of regional achievements. Every year, NODA also holds the National AGM and the Presidential Gala. R

The annual NODA Theatre Summer School attracts people from around Britain. It is an opportunity for both members of NODA and those who may be thinking of joining to come together for training and workshops, and to celebrate the role of everybody involved in amateur theatre. 24 is for… Training In addition to Summer School, NODA offers its members a number of ad-hoc training sessions in most regions. T

NODA understands the needs of its members. We know that publicity is important to you so we send Regional Representatives to your shows to write reports on productions they have seen. These reports are published on the regional web pages. U

26 is for… Volunteers Without the commitment of those who give up time on a voluntary basis, the committees that run amateur theatre groups would not be the same, and NODA is proud to support voluntary committee members in various ways. V

27 is for… Website NODA members can use the website to list performances free of charge. This is a great publicity tool and is used by members of the public to see what’s on in their local area. W

The national poster and programme competition is extremely popular and aims to encourage the best in design and promotion. Each region holds its own competition and trophies are awarded to the winners and runners up. X

NODA appreciates there are three priorities for every society: attracting audiences, financial sustainability and getting young people involved in amateur theatre, and is developing a range of ways in which support can be offered to members. Y
