#4 SEE SET EXAMPLE (Blaming Romeo for Tybalt’s death) STATEMENT: Romeo is to blame for Tybalt’s death through urging Tybalt to fight against him for revenge against his best friend Mercutio. EVIDENCE: In Act 3, Scene 1 in Romeo and Juliet, Romeo exclaims, “now, Tybalt, take the ‘villain’ back again” ( ). EXPLANATION: Romeo demonstrates the urge to fight against Tybalt, by asking him to call Romeo a villain again, in order to show that he should not run away and fight him for revenge of the death of his best friend Mercutio. Romeo’s urge to fight against Tybalt causes the ultimate blame as to why Tybalt died and caused further conflict between both families.

EVIDENCE: “Three civil brawls, bred of an airy word, by thee old Capulet and Montague, have thrice disturbed the quiet of our streets (Act 1, Scene 1, 82-84). EXPLANATION: This quote shows that the family feud is responsible for Romeo and Juliet dying.
