Habitat Project (35 pts) Due Weds
Work individually Use both pictures and text to create an ecosystem/habitat. Choose your habitat. Can be big or small. Ex: arctic tundra, rainforest canopy, forest floor, open meadow, sandy desert, tropical island, african savannah, coral reef, creek, temperate lake, deep ocean, swamp, beach, mountain peak, cave, urban environment, underground/soil 1. (5 pts) Include an example of each and LABEL 2 Producers Primary Consumer Secondary Consumer Tertiary Consumer 3 Abiotic factors Decomposer 2. (5 pts) Top Left Corner: Draw a picture of an energy pyramid (4 levels) (5 pts) 3. (5 pts) Top Right Corner: Draw a picture of a food web (at least 6 organisms) (5 pts) 4. (5 pts) Top Middle: Choose one interesting organism in the habitat and write at least 5 good sentences explaining its niche (job it performs in the ecosystem, what it eats, information about reproduction, temperature and moisture requirements, active time such as nocturnal or diurnal) 5. (5 pts) Middle Left Side: 1. Which of your organisms is the keystone species? Why? 2. Explain why prey need predators. 6. (10 pts) Picture is visually appealing, full of detail, colorful, neatly drawn, etc.
