Chaired by Linda Derivi Midtown Community Learning Center St. John’s Episcopal Church, 117 E. Miner UOP Jacoby Center and St. John’s combined efforts with Midtown to provide an after school learning environment for Midtown children

6 Building Incentive Pilot Program (BIPP)
Chaired by Mike Niblock/Dennis Smallie To inspire a mixed-use area With a “live, work, walk” environment Of owner-occupancy and Retail commercial buildings Revitalize the area through incentives offered by: Community Development/Planning Department Fire Department Public Works Housing and Redevelopment

Staffed by ACLC employee who is being trained as an ombudsman/liaison to permit center, Cultural Heritage Board, etc. ACLC Office, 315 N. San Joaquin Resource Center with Computers Access to funding sources Welcome packets (paid for by a PG&E Grant)

8 MMAT Highlights Local Economic Development Grant awarded by PG&E (submitted by Alicia Duer – City Grants Manager) The Design Center will be receiving a $5,000 grant for the Magnolia Policy/Advisory Group (MAG) Center for Building Restoration and Economic Development MAG Presentations Council Member Gary Giovanetti, Dr. Benedetti, Dr. Childs and others are making Power Point presentations to various groups (e.g. Rotary, Board of Realtors) Money designated for a portable display PG&E received 147 applications totaling $1.3 million in grant requests for 2004. PG&E only distributed $300,000 due to their budget

9 MMAT Highlights Updating the 2001 Midtown Revitalization Strategy (UOP Volunteer Intern) Stockton Smart Energy Program PG&E going house to house, business to business to offer assistance Working with CHAT, Police, Parks & Recreation, Magnolia Neighborhood Watch to address transient concerns around Eden Park Installed Video Cameras Lighting improved
