2 National Trail’s Application Process
Attend the Informational Meeting in January Complete and return the following forms by February 24th Letter of Intent to Participate Acknowledgement of Receipt of Program Information Statement of Responsibility Completed college application and required forms Schedule a time to go over potential course selections with Miss Duckro

3 How do I know if I am eligible for CCP?
There is no longer a minimum GPA requirement to become eligible for College Credit Plus. A student’s eligibility is determined by the college where the student intends to take college courses. Students must directly apply to that specific college. Students may be required to take a placement test to determine eligibility at that college.

4 After you apply… Wait for correspondence from the college to determine if you have been accepted. If you have been accepted, follow up with the college to make sure you have fulfilled all of their requirements. Placement tests? Additional paperwork? Meet with Miss Duckro to go over your course selection each semester.

5 Fulfilling High School Graduation Requirements
Students can earn up to 30 hours per year, and 120 hours total while in the program. College semester hours per class will be converted to high school credit (Carnegie Units) in the following proportion: 3 or more semester hours = 1 Carnegie Unit 2 semester hours = 2/3 of a Carnegie Unit 1 semester hour = 1/3 of a Carnegie Unit In order to graduate from NTHS, students need to earn the following (see page five in the NTHS Course Guide for more information): 4 credits of English 4 credits of Math, including Algebra 2 (or equivalent) 3 credits of Science 3 credits of Social Studies 2 credits of Business/Computer classes 1 credit of a Unified Art 1 credit of a Fine Art 7 credits of Electives

8 Responsibilities! Parent Responsibilities: Student Responsibilities:
Check student progress periodically Realize that academic, social, and physical differences do exist between high school and college environments Student Responsibilities: Attend class regularly Complete the requirements of the college course If a college course is dropped past the “drop-by” date or failed, students WILL BE RESPONSIBLE for all costs of the college class Apply with each college that courses will be taken through and follow up on ALL admission requirements Ensure the courses taken over a school year do not exceed 30 hours.
