2 Touro’s Center for Autism and Developmental Disabilities was recently renovated/expanded thanks to a generous donation from Sharon Sigesmund-Pierce and Stephen Pierce. The expansion project allowed the Center’s capacity to be more than doubled. Treatment rooms were increased from 6 to 8 and a park-like play area was created for group sessions. The expansion also created private parent consultation rooms, a quiet viewing area for families and a diagnostic and research wing.

5 Touro’s Center for Autism and Developmental Disabilities has gone from seeing less than 200 patient visits a month when it opened in 2008 to more than 350 patient visits a month today. This represents an increase of more than 85% since opening. Therapies currently provided include speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, applied behavioral (ABA) therapy and physical therapy. With the recent hiring of new ABA therapists and the addition of physical therapy, patient volume will continue to rise.

8 The Center hosts a variety of events and activities to support the families and children it serves.
Each year the Center hosts a basketball camp for children in the Center. The camp is funded through private donations and is run by former NBA players including Jerome “The Junkyard Dog” Williams. Other activities include the annual Season of Lights Soiree to support scholarships for families who cannot afford treatment and an annual Light It Up Blue Party during Autism Awareness month. This past year Touro partnered with Clark County officials to light the Welcome to Las Vegas Sign and the High Roller on the Las Vegas Strip blue.
