No definition was used as we thought the meaning of the term was completely clear; this proved to be wrong (lots of different meanings in various countries).
Since the following definition :
‘User participation’ is part of a policy to actively involve users of health care or social care (or their relations),
to include their opinions in the policy of the supervisor,
with the aim to improve the quality of health care or social care.
