Good Intentions…. When something is too good to be true…run!

In most cases….cash flow
IRS- Checks were generated, Board signed, filed in a desk drawer. Sued personally and professionally for serving on an unmet needs committee following two floods. Reservation of Rights Letter! No D & O Insurance. Affordable housing project drained the cash flow.

Lessons Learned Directors and Officers Liability Insurance- ask for a copy of the current policy. Profit and Loss statements/Independent Audit Grant applications for the original budgets Cash on hand/Operating Reserve/Cash Flow
