2 Consuming vs Producing
Kids today are exposed to an insane amount of connected technology (phones, tablets, computers, connected objects) and the trend will grow exponentially fast. These objects are of poor software quality, yet handle our most private data. We need to teach children how to become producers and actors, instead of consumers.

3 Kids, what do we know about them ?
First and foremost, they like sugar and sweets... but when they get too much, bad things tend to happen.

4 Kids, what do we know about them ?

5 Kids, what do we know about them ?
They like blocks – in fact they're extremely good at it, they can spend hours piling up blocks. As long as they fit together, otherwise they get frustrated quickly.

6 Kids, what do we know about them ?
They like remote controled cars – they can spend hours fighting for the control, finding new ways to race and challenge each other.

7 Blocks + RC Car = Blocks + RC cars equals Raspbuggy
Raspbuggy is an open platform to teach computing to children, in a visual and simplified way, to immediately demonstrate the results of their decisions.

8 Raspbuggy in a nutshell
A Raspberry Pi + Hardware layer A Python HW abstraction layer (Drivar) A Web IDE (based on Google Blockly) A self-standing Wifi infrastructure AP Your web browser

9 Raspbuggy Web IDE The Web IDE supports :
On-the-fly Python code generation (any change in the Blockly programming area is immediately reflected in Python) A script preview panel (to see what the generated script looks like before execution) Script execution monitoring (to know whether your script is still running) Asynchronous console output (so that your program can provide debug outputs during execution)
