2 About Wales Compared to other countries in the World, Wales is a very small country.  Although there are smaller countries in Europe, this is in itself is unique as Europe is the most crowded continent on Earth in terms of countries and cultural distribution.  Nevertheless, Wales is sure to be one of the most beautiful countries in the World with a rich diversity of wildlife and many native breeds of livestock and other animals.  This is reflected in the fact that Wales has three National Parks. There are many different kinds of flora and fauna to entertain and pleasure us throughout the four seasons.  Not forgetting the little birds, or garden birds that like to frequent bird tables set up in back yards or front gardens.

3 Cardiff is the capital of Wales
Cardiff is the capital of Wales. It it was founded by the Romans. This cultural centre of Wales has its own castle, some examples of architecture and is also a major sea port. Cardiff is home to Welsh Rugby and the Welsh National Opera. The Welsh Capital is full of new and impressive buildings. Cardiff claims to be 'Europe's Youngest Capital‘. Cardiff used to be an important city in Britain which exported coal from around the Welsh valleys. With European funding and with new employers moving to the city, Cardiff is enjoying a return to its former prosperity. Cardiff, or "Caerdyff" in Welsh, is perhaps the best known of Welsh cities and it is certainly the most visited. Cardiff only became the Capital of Wales as recently as 1955.

A delightful seaside resort popular with sailing enthusiasts, has two long sandy beaches with sand dunes to the rear. There is a lively harbour, narrow streets with interesting shops.  Aberdovey Beach Beautifully situated on a narrow strip of land between the mountains and the sweeping sands of the Dovey estuary. There are lots of beaches to choose from as the sands, backed by dunes run all the way to nearby Tywyn.
