Town Hall The Town Hall of Eger can be found in the city centre in Dobó square After the regime had changed in 1990, governments were formed. The local government was placed in the Town Hall.

The leader is the mayor who was elected among themselves by the representatives then after 1994 it is elected for four years by the population of Eger. There are 12 constituencies in Eger and there are 18 representatives.

Committees There are five committees in the local government:

Civil Relations The citizens are increasingly engaged in public affairs and they can participate in general meetings and comments on issues. Civil Round Table It is an organization which organizes events, exhibitions, sporting and cultural events. It proposes to the local government what events should it support.

Eger Culture and Arts Centre
This centre is responsible for organizing cultural and artistic events in the city, that invites not only tourists but also students studying and living in Eger. It helps and supports organizations, associations consisting of young people.

Foreign Relations Eger has eleven twin cities:
These cities organize cultural and sports events. Dolný Kubín, Slovakia Cheboksary, Chuvash Republic, Russia Esslingen am Neckar, Germany Gainesville, USA Gheorgheni, Romania Jericho, Palestine Kutná Hora, Czech Republic Mâcon, Burgundy, France Pamukkale, Turkey Pori, Finland Przemyśl, Poland Sarzana, Liguria, Italy

Hospital renovation Our students actively take part in the renovation of the local hospital. They are working under the supervision of trainers in the painting, plumbing, wallpapering and carpentry works.

Community services They are independent of financial interests, individual or group activity which is compulsory and a prerequisite of the final examinations Students have to perform 50 hours.
