4 The average salary of a public school teacher is $60,000

6 $60,000 + $10,000 = $70,000

7 Teachers teach children on average 6 to 7 hours per day for 180 days
* Note: this doesn’t include hours spent meeting with kids during lunch, before/after school tutoring, clubs, etc…

8 180 teaching days X 6 teaching hours = 1,080 teaching hours
