2 What is health care waste?
Health care waste is the waste released in the institutions related to the health care, cure and care of animals In Estonia, health care waste is not clearly classified into the infectious and non-hazardous waste based on the criteria of the infection It includes hospital, clinic, polyclinic, nursing home, family health center, dental center and veterinarian wastes

3 Waste Act of the Republic of Estonia
The waste holder must have a rewiew of the category, quantity and origin of the waste at its disposal, characteristics important from the viewpoint of the waste handeling and danger to the health, environment and assets arising from the waste Contagious waste must be handled like infectious waste and they can not be taken to custom dumping ground nor to non-hazardous dumping ground The waste holder is obliged to treat the waste at its disposal according to the enforced requirements

4 Subjects which are not on the list are counted as non-hazardous waste
Classified into the infectious and non- hazardous waste based in “Chemical Act” § 5 section 1 Chemical which is dangerous to health, environment or assets arising from the waste is classified as infectious waste Subjects which are not on the list are counted as non-hazardous waste The list of the infectious waste By-product waste of treatment or care development of humans and animals 18 01 By-product waste of birth care and on diagnostics of illness, treatment or prevention Sharp and aculeate items (except items named with a code ) Body parts and organs, blood preservation bags and preservblood (except items named with a code ) * Waste, which must be collected and disposed by stipulations to avoid infections Waste, which must not be collected and disposed by stipulations to avoid infections (eg. bandages, splinter, sheet, one-time clothes and diapers), * Chemicals constituent or including hazardous substance Chemicals, which are not listed with code number * Cytotaxonomous and Cytostatic drugs Drugs which are not named with a code number , , , and * Amalgam waste of dental care * Antibiotics * Drugs with psychotropic and narcotic substances * Other drugs with infectious ingredients * Unasserted drugs.
