Opportunity to Decommission
As a result of a recent “Breakfast with Anne” many participants noted there are areas where money, time or resources could be saved if we spent some time on “decommissioning.” Our Opportunity Take what we have heard from our teams and put it into action. Allow teams to help decide what the priorities are and form teams to get it done. (Agile principles) OPENNESS Recommendation: Send a survey to ask the HUIT community what we can decommission.

Next Steps: Format questions into a Qualtrics survey for HUIT-wide distribution via a link in an from UCIO. Filter results By category (Process, Application, System, Tool) By Effort and Value Review results with SLT Prioritize (Top 5 based on low effort or biggest benefits) Provide feedback quickly to the organization around was proposed, what is already in process of being retired, and the SLT Top 5. Allows whole organization to see work already in progress; not known about Reflects our intent to move on their recommendations Launch decommissioning work for SLT’s Top 5 Formation of teams and timeline Check in at end of Q3 and again at Q4 to see what has been accomplished
