3. 2016-17 School Report Card Highlights
Students with disabilities decreased from the previous year: 13% to 12%
Low income students are up from the previous year: 43% to 45%
Truancy is up from previous year: 4% to 9%
Homeless students are up slightly from previous year: 1% to 2%
Strong graduation rate at 93%; 8th highest in the area
HS SAT scores are overall slightly above state average in ELA, and below state average in math. For ELA, girls performed at levels higher than state averages and boys below state averages. In math, both girls and boys performed below state averages.

4. 2016-17 School Report Card Highlights (continued)
% College Ready (ACT score of 21+) increased from 45% to 77%; this was an optional test this year.
Post-secondary college enrollment was at 70% this year, up from 61% last year.
52% of students (class of 2015) required some form of remedial college coursework in English, Math, or Communications. This was 5% higher than the state average, but represented an improvement of 13% for our students.
Math continues to be an area of highest need in nearly all areas of the district.

5. Teacher Attendance
Beginning in the School Report Card included the % of teachers who are absent for 10 or less days per year. This includes sick, personal and professional development days. This improved from 49% last year to 67.7% this year. The District continues to work to provide trainings outside of the school day, and encourage teachers to reduce absenteeism.

7. State Assessments
PARCC assesses English/Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics at grades 3-8
PARCC website for parents:  
Illinois Science Assessment is administered to students in grades 5 and 8, and those enrolled in high school biology. The ISA was given in spring 2015, 2016 and No test results have been received for any of these test administrations.
The SAT is administered to all students in grade 11
The ACT was not funded by the state in Spring 2016, but available to high school students as an option for a fee. Waivers were available.
