Degenerative spondylolisthesis of L5 on S1, grade 2, in a 60-year-old man. (A) Lateral plain film of the lumbosacral junction. (B) Sagittal T1-weighted MRI of the lumbosacral spine. In contrast to the lateral radiograph made with the patient standing, there is minimal compromise of the spinal canal. Advanced imaging is made with the patient non–weight-bearing. So remember that a functional problem, made worse with the patient upright, may not be fully appreciated with advanced imaging.
