MathXL® for School Teacher Training Series An Overview of Navigation Buttons and Teacher Features

2 Point your browser to: Note: You must register using your teacher access code and create your first course before you will be able to use the features of MathXL® for School. If you do not have an access code, you may request one at

3 Log in With Your User Information

4 Click Enter MathXL for School

5 Click on the name of a course

6 The Navigation Buttons on the left give students and teachers access to the features of
MathXL for School. Navigation Buttons

7 A teacher can see the student view at any time through the use of the Student Navigation Buttons. These are the buttons that students use to access all features of MathXL for School.

8 All teacher features are accessed through the Instructor Navigation Panel.
Note: Students will not be able to see or access the Instructor Navigation Buttons.

9 All instructor features of a MathXL for School
course are managed through the Instructor Navigation Buttons. Course Manager Create or Copy a Course Manage Course List Change Course Settings Copy or Delete a Course Run the Browser Check Create Assignments or Announcements View the Gradebook

10 To Create or Copy a Course from the Course Manager, use the Create or copy a course button.

11 Checked courses are current courses
Use the Manage Course List link to establish which courses appear as current courses, making them available for management through the drop down menu that appears on most pages. Checked courses are current courses

12 Use the Actions menu to the right of the course to change settings, copy, delete, run the browser check, create assignments or announcements or view the gradebook for that course.

13 Change Course Settings
Select Edit to change the setting in a category.

14 Copy a Course Copy the current course or select another one from the drop-down menu.

15 Delete a Course Note: Be sure you have exported all student data before deleting a course. Once a course is deleted, it cannot be restored.

16 Run the Browser Check

17 Create Assignments Assignments can be created for the selected course or any active course in the drop down menu.

18 Create Announcements Announcements can be created for the selected course or any active course in the drop down menu.

19 View the Course Gradebook
The gradebook for the selected course or any course in the drop-down menu can be viewed and managed.
