Welcome to East High School DECA
DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in the fields of hospitality, marketing, management and finance in high schools and colleges around the globe. DECA competition September 30 (last day to sign up for DECA)
October 6, DECA after school help session October 21, Philadelphia University Mock Competition $10 November 10, Practice role play session with members of the GWCC at East High School. November 30, 1st competition of the year- King of Prussia (approximately 230 students) Students complete a 100 question multiple choice test and a role play for their competition. Feb (W-F), State Competition in Hershey, students who place high enough at district may attend. (approx. 140 students) April (Approximate), ICDC in Anaheim CA (approx. 30 students)- there are also leadership academies to attend.

How does your child prepare for DECA competition?
All curriculum taught in classes correlates to DECA tests and role plays. In class role play and test practice After school extra help is offered. Teachers and older students come to assist new students. Competition University A software designed specifically for DECA competition. It has each category and test included. Tentative After School DECA Extra Help Days 10/6 (TH) /18(TU) /14(M) 1/5(TH) /10(TU) /6(M) /15(W)

Leadership Opportunities
Chapter officer, elections held in the fall District 9 Representative, elections held at District on Nov. 30 State Officer, elections held at state competition in Hershey in February. Employment Opportunities
Check out the DECA partners: Many of these companies are looking to hire DECA members or provide scholarships. Keystone Federal Credit Union- Keystone FCU has a student run branch in our cafeteria which is staffed by a credit union employee and two of our DECA students. After school jobs: occasionally local businesses will contact us looking for a student to assist with light office work after school or weekends.
