Relative Location: Southern Asia, Northwest of Pakistan, and east of Iran.

4. History 1 The first piece: The constant conquering of the land
First, Alexander the Great invaded in 328 B.C.
Then, Darial 1 of Persia in the 6 B.C.
Then the Sakas and Parthisiam in the 1st and 2nd Century
Then the Kushans in the 4th Century
Then the Hepthalites in the 5th and 6th Century
Finally, the Arabs in the 7th Century

The second is in the 11th century, the Turks took over and made Afghanistan the center of Islamic Power.
The third is in the early 12th century, the Mongols invaded Afghanistan. Tinuro, a Mongolian empire, added it to his empire at the end of the 14th century.

Afghanistan’s government is called an Islamic Republic. It’s like a democracy. It has a president and two vice presidents.
The president right now is Hamid Karzai of the Popalzi. He is from the Pashtun ethnic group.

7. Culture 1 About 99% of all Afghanis are Muslim
There are almost 20 different groups with their own language. One of the main ones are the Pashtun.
Since not many people are literate, folk dances are done at weddings and holidays.

They wear traditional clothes. During the winter, they wear a coat made of sheepskin, fabric, or fur.
