4. Reminders
This is a college level class
Snow days will not exempt us from work
Some things covered on tests will not be able to be covered in class
Students need to keep up with assignments
Students will not be able to drop after they have signed up

5. Basic Setup of Class Backwards teaching Read chapter at home
Find your own supplements if needed
Discuss questions from chapter in class
Activity or mini lab to reinforce chapter
Quiz at the end of every class
OR…
Turn in PreLab (no PreLab, no working on Lab)

7. Work Ethic
Most work is done on their own
HW every night (1+ hours)
No lectures during class
Labs take entire class
Study for AP test
The class moves very fast, so much to get through and less than 7 months to do it in.
Teacher is a guide, not a source of all knowledge.

8. AP Credits
Some colleges do not accept AP credit and some do
Students do not need all AP sciences before they graduate
Some colleges make them take the class again
Be sure to check with college to see if they accept credit

9. To Succeed…
I want them to succeed, not flounder or sink or struggle
This is not a class to rush into
If they can wait to take it, it would be better
Should not be the 1st or 2nd AP class they take
They should be ready for the rigor
