Make a Classifying Thinking Map (tree map) with 10 divisions - USE A RULER! Label the Top line with Phylum Chordata (vertebrates) Label the second tier lines with each class. Mammals will be sub-divided into 3.

Power Paragraph: Part I List and describe the major characteristics of the Phylum ( Facts w explanations/examples ~ 2 sentences) List and describe the Vertebrate Classes ( 7 sets of Facts w/explanations and examples) Use lined notebook paper Trim and paste into Journal Part II Draw small illustrations of an animal from each class They should be detailed, shaded, and colored Put them in your Journal on the opposite page of your paragraph Label each picture with the name of the animal and the class it belongs to

List and describe the Vertebrate Classes ( 7 sets of Facts w/explanations and examples) – 7 yellow and pink sentences for EACH vertebrate class. Make a scientific drawing of one of the vertebrates you saw at the park. Follow all of the instructions previously taught on scientific drawings Refer to the instruction sheet for clarification DO NOT DRAW ANY LINES OR CIRCLES FREE HAND!!!! The drawing and labeling should be on page 3 The observation and research should be on page 4
