6. One day, a teacher told her students to line up for candy and whoever was first in line would get two pieces.
What do you think happened?

7. She gave the first boy his two pieces.
Then, she gave the second and third child three pieces each.
Then, she gave the last girl five pieces.

8. Then the kids remembered what Jesus had said: “Many who are first now will be last in the future. And many who are last now will be first in the future.” Mat. 19:30

9. Then she gave all the children plenty of candy… just for fun.

10. The modern trend of hanging Christmas trees upside-down actually began in the middle ages when a missionary hung an evergreen upside-down to teach pagans about the three persons of the trinity.

11. Today, we are going to look at what is upside-down. What is up
Today, we are going to look at what is upside-down. What is up? What is down? What is first? What is last? What is bad? What is good? We are looking at two different kingdoms.

"It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners." Mk 2:17

23. “When Jesus noticed that all who had come to the dinner were trying to sit in the seats of honor near the head of the table, he gave them this advice:
When you are invited to a wedding feast, don’t sit in the seat of honor. What if someone who is more distinguished than you has also been invited?

24. The host will come and say, ‘Give this person your seat
The host will come and say, ‘Give this person your seat.’ Then you will be embarrassed, and you will have to take whatever seat is left at the foot of the table!

25. “Instead, take the lowest place at the foot of the table
“Instead, take the lowest place at the foot of the table. Then when your host sees you, he will come and say, ‘Friend, we have a better place for you!’ Then you will be honored in front of all the other guests.
For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.” Lk. 14:7-11

26. Humble is Better than Proud
“Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you.”
1 Pet. 5:6
“Though the LORD is on high, he looks upon the lowly, but the proud he knows from afar.”
Ps. 138:6
“Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.” James 4:10
Humble is Better than Proud

27. Our King is Humble
Born a human, He slept in an animal food trough
Never owned a home
Rode into Jerusalem on a borrowed donkey
Washed His disciple’s feet

28. Our King is Humble Allowed Himself to be arrested
Allowed Himself to be whipped & crucified
“I offered my back to those who beat me, my cheeks to those who pulled out my beard; I did not hide my face from mocking and spitting.” Isa.50:5

30. Pride is Brought Low O shining star, son of the morning!
You have been thrown down to the earth,
For you said to yourself,
‘I will ascend to heaven and set my throne above God’s stars.
Instead, you will be brought down to the place of the dead

31. “Though he was God he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to.
Instead, he gave up his divine privileges, took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being.
“… he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross.
Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names

33. Is Jesus Speaking to You?
“They said to each other, ‘Did not our hearts burn within us while he talked to us on the road, while he opened to us the Scriptures?’”
John Wesley Said:
“…the preacher was describing the change which God works in the heart through faith in Christ and I felt my heart strangely warmed.”
Jesus makes His presence Known by a small voice!

35. What is the Sinner‘s Prayer?
This is a prayer we can pray when we are ready to admit we are sinners and need Christ’s forgiveness.
It must be prayed with faith in our hearts and a readiness to have a life-changing encounter with Jesus Christ.

36. A prayer of faith  Pray this prayer if :
If you never have before
You have in the past, but you think it would mean more today
You have been walking afar off and you want to come back
You want to set an example & show others how it is done
You just like to give your heart to Jesus again & again

37. We Declare Our Faith Publicly Because Jesus Declared His LOVE Publicly
“If you stand before others and are willing to say you believe in me, then I will tell my Father in heaven that you belong to me.” Mat 10:32

38. Three Important Questions
Do you want to know Jesus as your Savior right now?
Do you believe He died to save you from your sins & that He rose from the dead?
Do you believe that He is here, waiting to save you right now?

39. The Prayer of a Sinner Turning to Jesus
Dear Jesus, I know that I have sinned against You and that my sins separate me from You.
I am truly sorry.
Right now, I turn away from my sinful past .
Please forgive me, and help me to keep from sin.
I believe You died for my sins.
I Believe You rose from the dead, you are alive, and you hear this prayer from my heart.
I invite You Jesus to be both my Savior and the Lord of my life.
I want You to rule my life from now on.

40. “But some people did accept him
“But some people did accept him. They believed in him, and he gave them the right to become children of God.”
John 1:12

42. “If you openly say, ‘Jesus is Lord’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from death, you will be saved.”
