Many of these can be used for whole class or individualized instruction. In order to hook your iPad up to your LCD projector you will need an Apple Vga, DVI, or HDMI adapter. These cost about $20 at the Apple store.
I do know that much of the world is using Android based phones and tablets. Be aware that many of these programs and similar ones are available for the Android operating system. Just check google play to find out more.
