Vine step LINE DANCE Basic
STEP COUNTING DIRECTION Vine Step with Various endings , 2, 3, To the Side ……………………………………………………………………………… Step RF to right side, step LF behind RF, step RF to right side: TOUCH LF beside RF Repeat to Left side: Step LF to left side, step RF behind LF, step LF to Left side: Touch RF beside LF NOTE: video clip shows that a stomp; hitch or a TOUCH can end a vine step

Shuffle LINE DANCE BASIC
NAME OF STEP COUNTING DIRECTION SHUFFLE & 2, Fwd; back; to the side or across Forwards: Step forward onto RF, close LF to RF, Step forward onto RF. can repeat using LF first Backwards: step back onto RF, close LF to RF, step back onto RF. Sideways: Step to right side onto RF, close LF to RF, step to R side onto RF Across: Step RF across LF, step to L side with LF, Step RF across LF. Check video clip 1 NOTE: the shuffle side is accompanied by a back rock in order to repeat to the other side.

PIVOT TURN Step forward onto RF Lift heels to make a ½ turn swivel
Transfer weight onto new front leg (left) You will now have the right leg (the back leg) free to begin the next move. Note: the position of the legs have not changed – they have stayed in the same position after the first step forward. This movement is often accompanied by a shuffle forward: Shuffle forward leading with the LF = step-together-step; Then step forward on right to make the turn described above. The RF will now be available to lead the next shuffle forward. ………………………………………………… Pivot turn, step is another popular combination: step forward on RF to perform the pivot turn; then step onto the RF to finish the combination.

Amalgamating Using RF lead: Shuffle forward=step together step
Step forward on LF to perform a pivot ½ turn Step forward onto LF to complete sequence. Repeat to back (or opposite) wall (or direction) TIMING for this combination is: 1 & 2 = shuffle forward 3 & 4 = pivot turn, step (3= step forward & = swivel turn 4 = step forward onto LF.

Using all previous steps in an amalgamation
Vine step to the Right; touch , 2, 3, 4 Vine step to the Left; touch , 6, 7, 8 Shuffle forward onto RF & 2 Pivot turn, step & 4 Shuffle forward & 6 Pivot turn , 8. Repeat with vine step to the Left; touch…………………. Try to work this out before looking at video clip; then check if you were correct!

COASTER STEP Step back onto the ball of RF Step ball of LF next to RF
( both feet are now together on balls of feet) Step forward onto flat RF (counting: 1 & 2) NOW TRY USING LF STEPPING BACK FIRST. To make it easier to repeat using alternate feet: this step can be combined with a forward rock: counting: 3, 4. Perform the coaster step as described, then rock forward onto LF then rock back onto RF. The LF is now ready to step back to repeat the coaster using LF first: SEE VIDEO CLIP

‘REVERSE’ OR ‘FORWARD’ COASTER
Step RF forward onto ball of foot Step LF next to RF ( both feet have heels raised) Step back onto flat of RF & 2 To practice using alternate feet; add a back rock: Perform as described above – you will have LF free to rock back; then rock forward onto RF. 3, 4. Repeat using LF to step forward onto ball………… Counting for this combination: 1 & 2; 3, 4. 5 & 6; 7, 8. see clip.
