He was the son of Poseidon and Medusa.
He was born from the blood of Medusa.
The Pegasus was ordered by Zeus to carry his lightning.
His twin brother was Chrysaor, who was said to be a giant or a winged boar, instead of a winged horse.

The weakness of the Pegasus was that it could be ridden.
