Cell Structure and Function (P60)
Use everything you have learned thus far to make an analogy for cells. Widgettes analogy – use the preformed analogy to match the analogy to the actual organelle. Design widgette city Plant or Animal PreDesigned – use the predesigned animal or plant cell to label the orgnalles an color. Select 8 organelles and come up with examples of relating their function to a real life object. Collage – design your own analogy drawing and label your objects with both their real name plus the organelle name

What did we Learn? Review Page
Cell Theory 3 Parts All living things are made up of cells Cells are the basic building block of life All cells come from preexisting cells Scientist What they “discovered” Microscope Magnification times eye piece by objective lens (10x4) = 40 Parts matching of microscope to the parts
30
What did we Learn? Prokaryote vs Eukaryote
Differences All pros are single cells, bacteria, oldest “simplest” cell, no nucleus or membranes, loose DNA Euk, nucleus and membrane bound organelles, larger, (organelles – mitochondria), complex Plants – chloroplast, large vacuole, cell wall Animals - centrioles Similarities Organelles – ribosomes, cell membrane, cytoplasm Contains DNA, All are cells, Must all follow cell theory All Organelle Functions and Image
