5 The Hydrophobic Horse The year is You have been commissioned by the King of Spain to explore the interior of a new land known by the native inhabitants as, Chicora (South Carolina). The King has graciously given one of his prize horses to you and your team member to use for this expedition. You have been asked to find a route from the coast of this strange land to the upper ridge. Unfortunately, the king’s horse has developed a fear of water due to the rough trip over seas. As result of the horses’ fear, you and your team mate must find a route without crossing any form of water.

6 The Hydrophobic Horse Directions:
Students will be divided into groups of two and given a map and a dry erase marker. Each group is to draw a route from the coast of SC to the upper ridge or border of SC and NC. You may not cross any body of water including streams, rivers, swamps, lakes or ponds. Do not worry about Rail Road tracks because they did not exist at this time. Once you and your team mate have drawn your route, please inform me that you are finished. You will have 20 minutes to accomplish this task.
