SNAIL Materials: Snail board, dice, verb cards, answer sheet, game markers (choose a colored star) How to Play: Place the cards face down in a pile. If the deck of cards runs out during play, shuffle the used cards and resume play. Each player rolls the dice. The highest scorer starts first. Play continues to the person’s left. The person who starts rolls the dice and moves his/her marker the number of spaces shown on the dice. Another player draws a card for the person who rolled the dice. They read the verb on the card. Depending on the color of the circle that the person has landed on, they must conjugate the verb in that form. Red = yo Dark Green = nosotros/as Blue = tú Light Green = vosotros/as Orange = él/ella/usted Yellow = ellos/ellas/ustedes If the player conjugates the verb correctly, they may remain on their circle until their next turn. The player may earn a bonus of moving one space ahead (or the nearest open space, if already occupied) if they can correctly translate both the subject and the verb to English. If the verb is conjugated incorrectly, the player is sent back to “Start.” Should one player land on a circle that is already occupied, that player must go back to “Start” and begin again on their next turn. The winner is the first person to occupy the center circle (“Terminar”) by rolling the exact number on the dice. Should the number be too great, he/she must count towards the middle and then count backwards from the middle the extra number of spaces. Verbs will be conjugated each time.

¡Silencio! Reglas para jugar (Rules for playing):
Form two teams of two people. Clear off your tables- no notes! Spread out the cards face down on the table. Decide which team will go first. The opposite team will draw one card and read the subject pronoun and conjugated verb in Spanish. Do not show the card, as the answer is on it! The first team will translate the subject pronoun and conjugated verb to English. If the team correctly translates the conjugated verb, they will put the card into their “points” pile. They will then draw another card and continue to play. Play will switch to the other team if… A verb is translated incorrectly (the card will be returned to the main pile) A “¡Silencio!” card is drawn. Return “¡Silencio!” cards to the bag in your basket. When a “¡Silencio!” card is drawn, the team must return all of their cards to the pile. The team with the most points wins the game.
