2 Today’s Expectations We will examine eight scenarios today.
In each scenario, you will need to determine if the person is guilty or not guilty. Please write down your answers and why you think your answer is right.

3 Today’s Expectations Today’s class will include a lot of yelling. There are many right answers to every question. There is only one wrong answer today: silence. If you are a student who normally has a big mouth, please try to be a little more quiet than usual so that our shy students don’t give us the wrong answer.

4 Interpreting the Constitution
a.k.a. NO VEHICLES IN THE PARK This is a story from a couple years back now, but a few years ago, the City of Clermont came up with a new ordinance about the big park off of 50. The ordinance just said, “no vehicles in the park.” My wife and son and I used to go to the park all the time, so we saw a lot of incidents after they put up the “No Vehicles in the Park” signs. I want you all to guess at what happened in each case. When I finish reading a case, feel free to discuss it with the class.

5 Mario: Guilty or Not Guilty?
Mario lives on one side of town and works on the other. He will save 10 minutes if he drives through the park. Trinity and Meredith think they see him drive through the park. Mario: Guilty or Not Guilty?

There are many trash barrels in the park. People put litter there to help keep the park clean. Super Maesi, with the power to fill and empty things, drives the Maesades Benz to each trash barrel to use her powers to keep the park clean. Super Maesi: Guilty or Not Guilty?

Queen Lily is sitting under a tree reading Paper Towns when an ambulance with a seriously injured victim of a car accident drives past her. The shortest route to the hospital is through the park. Ambulance Driver: Guilty or Not Guilty?

Two police cars are chasing a suspected car thief named Kaitlyn. If one officer cuts through the park, she can trap the suspect’s car between the patrol cars. Police Officer: Guilty or Not Guilty?

Ashley and Jomel are playing soccer. Jomel says “I don’t know why people like soccer.” Ashley is about to answer him when a tank rolls past them. The government has donated it to the city. It is to be placed in the park as a monument to the town’s veterans who died in wars. Tank Driver: Guilty or Not Guilty?
