ELIS = All Things Licensure
Check when you are due to renew Renew your license Apply for new endorsements Enter professional development Register in another region Check your credentials (degrees, tests passed, employment records, etc.)

ELIS - Educator Licensure System
Create an account - click ELIS/Educator Licensure at the top tied to your SS# will probably only see your testing results at first remember your username and password DO NOT create multiple accounts

Change Status if not full-time Look for blue if something new
EIN - Your Identifier Look for blue if something new

ELIS Basic “To Do” List Check your credentials Edit your profile
Address Phone address (needed for ISBE to contact you) Look at and enter your PD Change your PD exemption status (retired, part-time, etc.)

Requirements - July 1, 2014 PEL’s lapse Sept 1st if not renewed
$500 or 9 credit hours (must still do PD from last cycle) All licenses lapse if not registered within 6 months (pay for 5 years) Admin Academy per year required for active Administrators 120 hours of PD now required for all educators employed on teaching license Except... NBPTS - 60 hours in 5 years Non-teaching Speech Path - maintain IDFPR licensure Psych/Soc Work/Counselors - IDFPR License or 120 hours 1 Admin Academy required every 5 years for teachers w/ Admin Endorsement Retirees - no registration fees (FREE) - so keep it!

AND 2) Do you have either… An ISBE Evidence of Completion form from an ISBE Approved Provider OR A transcript from an IL college or university with an ISBE approved teacher prep program

Common Mistake… Never say never… Retirees feel wiped!
I’m never going to teach or sub again! They don’t do their PD and renew. Never say never…

Goofy New PD things… Renewal window doesn’t open until April 1
PD before July 1, 2014 falls under the old rules... Two forms of evidence ISBE list of specific things to do for CPDUs Some uniquely qualifying activities (advanced degree, add endorsement, etc.) PD after July 1, 2014… New (vague) rules about if they count - provider determines Need either... Evidence of Completion form from an ISBE approved provider OR A transcript from an IL college/university with an ISBE approved teacher preparation program
