Year 7R Food Practical Dates and Recipes Miss Cooper
Ingredients Apple Crumble 22nd January 2 large cooking apples 100g blackberries/summer fruits – frozen or tinned will do 150g caster sugar 50g butter 200g plain flour Oven dish Spicy Rice 5th February 1 vegetable stock cube 1 red pepper 200g can sweetcorn in water 1 medium onion 2 x 15ml spoons vegetable oil 350g easy-cook long grain rice 100g frozen peas 1 x 5ml spoon turmeric ½ x 5ml spoon cumin Black pepper (optional) Air tight container Oat Cookies 26th February 100g butter 50g muscovado sugar or golden caster suagr 2 tbsp clear honey 100g self raising flour 100g oats 50g raisins 1 tsp all spice Breakfast Muffins 12th March 3 slices of bacon 125g self raising flour 1 tsp of bicarb of soda 45ml of sunflower oil 1 egg 50ml semi-skimmed milk 50ml natural yoghurt 2 spring onions Optional: 25g grated cheese Bread Rolls 26th March 500g Bread flour (white or wholemeal) 7g (One sachet) Fast-action yeast 1 1/2 tsp Caster Sugar 2 tsp Salt 3 tbsp Olive oil Plus extra flour for dusting Mexican Quesadillas TBC 2 large floured tortilla 1 tsp oil 50g grated cheddar cheese or mozzarella Optional: (choose 2) 2 slices of ham 25g cooked chicken 1 sliced tomato ½ green pepper 1 spring onion 4 sliced mushrooms 25g tinned sweet corn January - March Remember to always bring your own container that is suitable to take your cooking home. If you cannot get the ingredients you need to bring a note with the reason why to a member of the Design and Technology department before the day you are due to cook. NOT ON THE SAME DAY!!
