On your whiteboard: Categorize (group by similarities) all tested compounds and make a chart that includes: Name of category List of compounds that belong in it Description of the common properties. Categories: Hard but brittle; soluble in water; strong conductor of electricity as a solution, high melting point. Should include calcium chloride, calcium acetate, Epsom Salt, sodium bicarbonate, and table salt Not as hard as category 1; somewhat (or not) soluble in water; does not conduct or poorly conducts electricity in water, low melting point.
