We don’t want to spend a lot of time installing software. So we have provided some wizards to help automate the process called Hydration. Hydration has two wizards. The first stages your source media. The second builds out a complete infrastructure on a single server in an unattended manner. All you need to do is gather the needed software and then use the supplied HTML applications (.HTA’s) that walk you through the two main processes.
Please note that Hydration also takes care of many configuration steps as well. For instance, BizTalk Server 2006 is installed and configured with a basic setup.
Also be aware that Hydration has been tested with the x86 versions of the various components and applications.
You don’t have to install everything, but there are obviously dependencies.
The included Readme.docx gives you detailed instructions on how to use and customize this tool.

Both of these processes are driven by the supplied .HTA’s:
gui-Hydrate-Deployment-Point.hta is responsible for the creating the proper directory structure and then populate that directory structure with the correct application files. This repository is called the Hydration Deployment Point.
gui-Hydrate-SERVER.hta is responsible for defining many key configuration settings for the server to be hydrated (a.k.a. hydration server). It also initiates the actual build/hydration process

8. Hydration Pre-Requisites
Deployment share should satisfy the following requirements:
Approximately 30GB of free disk space
Internet access to complete the download of required components and updates
Source Files for Software products (UNC, CD/DVD)
A basic server to be hydrated with the following requirements:
Windows Server 2003 with integrated SP2
All patches and updates
Left in a workgroup
2GB RAM (or better)
30 GB of free disk space (or better)
1 GHZ CPU (or better)
Static IP Address

To build the server with the various components, the hydration process is designed to start with a basic server with the following requirements:
Windows Server 2003 with SP2
All hotfixes and updates
Left in a workgroup
Static IP address and network connectivity to the File Server containing the Hydration Software Depot
2 GB RAM (or better)
30GB of free disk space (or better)
1 GHZ CPU (or better)
Identify Location for the Hydration Software Depot
The hydration solution uses a file server to house the Hydration Software Depot. The file server should satisfy the following requirements:
Approximately 15 GB of free disk space. Most of this will be used to hold the product installation files needed to complete the hydration process.
Internet access to complete the download of required components and updates. Once completed, no further Internet access is required.
TCP/IP accessibility and name resolution for the required servers.
