Elementary Power Lesson for 3 Grade Levels. Christina Stansberry Green Magnet Academy The base of the wind turbine that will be constant. The student teams will create the turbine blades from materials they decide. 2nd Grade Wind Turbines Students will study renewable and non-renewable resources. They will then study how wind turbines are creating electricity. The students will then see the base of the wind turbine they will be creating the blades for. They will see how the wind will generate a voltage on the multimeter. The student teams will create the blades from their choice of material and see how much voltage their wind turbine can generate. 3rd Grade Solar Ovens Students will study renewable and non-renewable resources. They will then specifically study solar energy and how it is turned into electricity. The students will then create a solar oven that will cook a S’more. Solar oven Choices of boxes to create solar oven Cook S’more to eat!!! Each project will follow the Engineering Design Process. Squishy Circuit Power Grid Items to create a squishy circuit Power Grid Game online 4th Grade Power Grid with Squishy Circuits Students will learn how the power grid works and the different parts of the grid. They will understand that there has to be as much energy being put out and there is being used or the grid will not work. Student teams will use several batteries and squishy circuit dough to create a simple power grid. This work was supported primarily by the ERC Program of the National Science Foundation and DOE under NSF Award Number EEC
