1 Parent & Student Overview

2 Dallas County Promise covers the cost of tuition for up to 60 credit hours for up to three years (whichever comes first) at any Dallas County Community College (DCCCD) and a Success Coach for 2018 Dallas County high school graduates from participating campuses.

4 Three steps to receive free-tuition Promise & Success Coach
Pledge SENIOR YEAR by January 31: Make your Promise Pledge at Your pledge is only complete once you see a submission confirmation Apply SENIOR YEAR by March 15: Complete application to DCCCD through ApplyTX or the DCCCD Admissions Application Submit Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA) and list DCCCD college Enroll SENIOR YEAR by July 31: Complete DCCCD Registration for Fall semester Mention improvements: ApplyTX & TASFA 4

5 University Transfer Partnerships
ALL Dallas County Promise students Free tuition (cost of classes) at UNT Dallas Must meet Promise renewal requirements (2.0 GPA, 18 credit hours per year) Completion of Bachelor’s degree Select Dallas County Promise students Free tuition (cost of classes) at SMU Must meet additional GPA and income requirements Completion of Bachelor’s degree

6 Promise Benefits to Students
Regardless of what FAFSA/TASFA comes back with, Promise students are guaranteed free tuition at any DCCCD campus For ALL students at the 31 participating high schools regardless of income or high school GPA (and no essays!) Promise Pledge also counts as DCCCD Rising Star scholarship application; students will automatically receive book stipend if they meet additional income and GPA requirements

Promise Pledge must be complete by January 31 to receive Promise and/or Rising Star scholarships (including parent signature for students under 18) Proactive college Success Coach support beginning at the end of senior year and continuing through college transfer/completion Access to additional university transfer scholarships at UNT Dallas and SMU
